Our Buschenschank

Traditional South Tyrolean dishes, farm-grown products, and a view that inspires.

The history

The farm has been owned by the Tauferer family for almost 200 years and has been passed down through many generations. The old trees still bear witness to its long history. In the past, the farm was barren, but chestnuts and rye thrived here particularly well. Since only a little grass grew, the cows sometimes even had to eat oak leaves.

In 2011, Andreas took over the farm. A year later, he married Elisabeth, with whom he has a daughter, Franziska. Andreas’ parents, Burgi and Franz, also still live on the farm and sometimes help with the work.

Quality from our own hands

At Ebnicherhof, the majority of the products come from our own production. From farm-raised beef and pork to fresh vegetables, fruit and grains, to homemade sausages, bacon, jams and juices – with us, you know what you’re eating. Our wines, including Kerner, Vernatsch and Pinot Noir, also come from our own cultivation and reflect the quality of our farm.

Bacon, Kaminwurzen (smoked sausages), and Almkäse (Alpine cheese, which comes from the Alm where our cows graze and are milked in the summer), as well as farm-grown rye flour can be purchased at the farm counter.

Culinary highlights

Our cuisine is simple, honest and full of flavor – just as the South Tyrolean tradition dictates. Let us spoil you with our specialties:

  • Dumpling trio of cheese, beetroot and spinach dumplings
  • Schlutzkrapfen (Tyrolean ravioli) with seasonal filling
  • Buckwheat Riebl with plum jam
  • Brettlmarende (cold platter) with Almkäse (Alpine cheese), homemade pumpkin chutney, bacon & Kaminwurzen (smoked sausages)
  • Slaughter platter
